Meet the Artists

One of my favorite things about ArtFest Fort Myers is getting to meet the artists in person. Only 1 in 5 applicants are chosen, so you know the quality is outstanding. Walking from booth to booth, I love hearing the stories behind the artwork—whether it’s a bold abstract painting, a delicate ceramic piece, or a beautifully detailed sculpture. It makes the experience more personal when you can chat with the creator and understand their inspiration. to participate, this juried festival ensures that the artwork on display is of the highest quality. You’ll have the chance to talk with the artists, learn about their creative processes, and even add a new piece to your collection.

Live Art Demonstrations

Seeing an artist at work is one of the best ways to appreciate their skill. At ArtFest, you’ll have the chance to watch painters, sculptors, and other creators bring their work to life in real time. I always find myself mesmerized by the process—whether it’s a potter shaping clay or a painter layering colors to create depth. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more about different artistic techniques. bring their work to life right before your eyes! It’s a great way to see different techniques and gain a deeper appreciation for the creative process.

Art Under 20

This is one of the things I look forward to most at ArtFest. Nearly 300 high school artists put their heart and soul into their work, competing for $10,000 in cash prizes. The variety of talent on display is incredible, from intricate sketches to innovative mixed media pieces. Interactive Art Spaces

Art isn’t just something to look at—it’s something to experience. ArtFest Fort Myers offers interactive spaces where visitors of all ages can get creative. The Publix Art Yard is a favorite among kids, giving them a chance to paint, draw, and try out different artistic mediums. Dining at ArtFest Fort Myers

After browsing the incredible artwork, you’ll definitely want to take a break and enjoy some delicious food. The festival’s dining area offers a great selection of local favorites and diverse food truck cuisine. Whether you’re craving fresh seafood, barbecue, or international flavors, there’s something for every taste. I always appreciate that they provide shaded seating with tables and umbrellas, making it easy to sit down, relax, and refuel before heading back to explore more art.

Symphony on the Sound  – Friday 6:00pm – 9:00pm

Friday night at ArtFest kicks off with a free pops concert by the Gulf Coast Symphony. Set along the waterfront, this performance is the perfect way to start the weekend. The mix of classical and popular music adds a dynamic atmosphere to the festival. I love how the music complements the setting—sitting by the river with a cool breeze and great live music makes for a perfect evening. (Friday, January 31), enjoy a free Pops Concert presented by Gulf Coast Symphony and Publix.

Chalk Block Murals – Saturday starting in the morning

On Saturday, the streets of Fort Myers will transform into a colorful outdoor canvas. Forty teams of high school students will compete to create stunning chalk murals, and watching them come to life throughout the day is incredible. I always enjoy walking through and seeing the progression—some pieces start as rough sketches in the morning and end as detailed, vibrant designs by the afternoon. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate young creativity. 40 teams of high school students will transform the streets into colorful works of art using chalk as their medium.

Publix Run to the Arts 5K – Sunday morning

If you love starting your day with some movement, the annual 5K is a great way to do it. On Sunday morning, runners, walkers, and even casual strollers take to the streets for a fun, arts-inspired race. I’ve seen everything from serious athletes to families with kids participating, and the energy is always great. Plus, finishing the race just in time to grab a coffee and explore the festival makes it an ideal way to combine fitness and art. Sunday morning (February 2) with an energizing 5K race through downtown Fort Myers.
