As someone who lives in Southwest Florida, I always get excited when there’s an event that combines good food with a good cause. This is one of those events that feels fun and relaxed but also gives you a chance to give back. If you’re looking for things to do in Fort Myers in April or love a low-key Southwest Florida food festival that supports the local community, this one is definitely worth checking out.

What to Expect at Taste of Gulf Coast Town Center

The Taste of Gulf Coast Town Center is all about sampling signature dishes from some of the plaza’s best restaurants and eateries. Each participating business sets its own pricing, so you can pick and choose what sounds best without breaking the bank. It’s a great setup for foodies and families alike.

As you wander through the courtyard (between Burntwood Tavern and GameTime), you’ll also find local vendors, exclusive promotions, and giveaways from participating businesses. If you love discovering small businesses or picking up something special while you snack, you’ll enjoy the mix of food and shopping.

And let’s talk about the music—The Collaboration Band will be performing live from 12 to 3 p.m., adding to the upbeat, laid-back vibe of the event. It’s one of those afternoons where you can grab a plate, listen to music, and just relax.

Supporting a Good Cause

What makes this event even more special is that it’s part of a community initiative. The Taste of Gulf Coast Town Center is partnering with WINK Feeds Families, an organization working to fight hunger in our area. Guests are encouraged to bring either non-perishable food items or monetary donations.

Every donation also enters you into a raffle drawing for some great prizes provided by local businesses. So not only are you helping a good cause—you might walk away with something fun too.

Tips for Attending

  • Arrive early: The best food tends to go quickly, and it’s always nice to beat the crowds.

  • Bring a chair: There will be limited seating, and you’ll want to hang out for a while.

  • Pack a reusable tote: Between vendor shopping and food samples, you might have a few things to carry.

  • Have cash and card ready: Some vendors may be cash-only.

  • Dress for the weather: April in Fort Myers is usually warm and sunny, so dress comfortably and bring sunscreen.
