Experience the LEGOLAND Florida LEGO Festival

A Must-See Summer Event for Families

Looking for the best things to do in summer in Florida with kids? The LEGO Festival at LEGOLAND Florida Resort is happening every weekend from May 3 through June 8, 2025—and it’s the perfect summer adventure for families.

Whether you’re planning a weekend trip from Southwest Florida, a quick day trip from Cape Coral or Fort Myers, or a full family vacation, this brand-new festival adds even more fun to one of Florida’s most kid-friendly theme parks.

This year, we’re especially excited because LEGOLAND is offering a new Summer Play Pass—pay for just one day and come back all summer long. If you’re local (or semi-local like us), this is a game-changer. I’m sharing everything you need to know about the LEGOLAND Summer Play Pass here, but it’s something to take advantage of if you want to make the most of summer.

LEGO Festival 2025 – Dates and Location

  • Where: LEGOLAND Florida Resort, Winter Haven, FL
  • When: Every Saturday and Sunday from May 3 to June 8, 2025

What to Expect at the LEGOLAND LEGO Festival

The LEGO Festival transforms LEGOLAND Florida into a multi-zone celebration of creativity, imagination, and play. With five new interactive areas, exclusive LEGO builds, and hands-on activities, it’s designed to get families building, dancing, and exploring together.

My kids—now teens—grew up visiting LEGOLAND Florida, and some of their best memories were made here. What I’ve always loved as a parent is how well the park balances fun with learning. This festival takes that even further, giving families a meaningful reason to unplug and reconnect through play.

The Festival Zones:

  • Music Zone: Join the LEGO Battle of the Bands and enjoy live performances and fun backstage experiences.
  • Dance Zone: Let kids move and groove at the DJ GoodVibes Dance Party—perfect for burning off energy mid-day.

  • Creative Zone: Follow along with a LEGO Master Model Builder and build unique projects like a LEGO Minifigure head cookie.
  • Gaming Zone: A big hit for older kids and tweens, this zone features LEGO Fortnite—including a massive Cuddle Team Leader model made from over 21,000 bricks. Guests can also build their own additions to the Fortnite-inspired Lost Isles.
  • Chill Out Zone: Relax in a LEGO garden filled with flower walls. Younger kids will love the LEGO DUPLO® show starring Hopsy, the friendly red bunny.

At each zone, kids collect stamps on their festival lanyard, ending the day with a special “Play Pact”—a personal promise to keep playing, building, and imagining. What’s even better is that for every pact made, LEGO and Merlin will help provide play opportunities to underserved kids around the world.

Where to Stay Near LEGOLAND Florida (Family-Friendly Picks)

If you’re visiting from out of town—or just want to turn your visit into a weekend getaway—staying overnight can make your LEGO Festival experience even better. We’ve done both day trips and overnight stays, and honestly, it’s worth booking a hotel if you want to enjoy the park at a more relaxed pace.

Here are a few great options we’ve either stayed at or researched thoroughly:

  • LEGOLAND® Hotel Florida – Pirate, Kingdom, or Adventure Rooms
This hotel is located steps from the park entrance and packed with kid-friendly perks like a treasure hunt in every room, nightly entertainment, and themed dining. It’s perfect if you want to make your trip extra magical.

  • LEGOLAND® Beach Retreat
A more budget-friendly alternative, this resort has colorful bungalow-style rooms, an outdoor play area, and a laid-back vibe that’s ideal for younger kids.

  • Holiday Inn Winter Haven or Hampton Inn Winter Haven
These offsite hotels are just a 10-minute drive from the park. They’re clean, comfortable, and often more affordable—especially for larger families or those needing multiple rooms.

Tips for Visiting LEGOLAND Florida During the Festival

After many visits, here are a few of my best tips for getting the most out of your LEGO Festival day (or days):

  • Arrive early: The park opens at 10 a.m., and the festival zones are most enjoyable before the afternoon heat and crowds kick in.
  • Wear swimsuits under clothes: LEGOLAND’s water park is a great way to cool down after exploring the festival. You can easily add it to your ticket or pass.
  • Download the LEGOLAND app: It’s surprisingly helpful. Use it for real-time ride wait times, show schedules, and a park map that highlights the festival zones.
  • Bring a reusable water bottle: There are refill stations throughout the park, and staying hydrated is a must—especially in late spring heat.
  • Use the Summer Play Pass: If you’re within driving distance, this is by far the best deal of the season. Pay for one day and come back as many times as you want all summer long. I’ll be posting a full breakdown soon.

Why the LEGO Festival Is Worth the Trip

LEGOLAND Florida’s LEGO Festival is so much more than a theme park add-on. It’s a meaningful, creativity-driven experience that encourages families to play, build, laugh, and reconnect. For us, it brought back the magic of our early LEGO days—but with new elements (like the Fortnite zone and master builder challenges) that kept even our teen engaged.

If you’re searching for summer festivals in Florida for kids, day trips from Cape Coral, or what to do in Central Florida with kids, this is one of the best options out there—especially when paired with the Summer Play Pass.
