SEA LIFE Florida at LEGOLAND Florida Resort: A New Must-Visit Aquarium for Families
If you’re planning a family trip and looking for new attractions at LEGOLAND Florida, or fun and educational things to do with kids in Central Florida, you’ll want to put SEA LIFE Florida at LEGOLAND Florida Resort on your list. This brand-new, family-focused aquarium just opened in June 2025, and it brings the magic of the ocean to one of Florida’s most kid-friendly destinations.
As a family that already loves visiting SEA LIFE Orlando, we were really excited to check out this new location in Winter Haven. It’s just steps from LEGOLAND Florida’s main entrance—and it’s much more than an add-on. SEA LIFE Florida is a completely immersive experience, built especially for families with young children.
What to Expect at SEA LIFE Florida at LEGOLAND
SEA LIFE Florida is designed to feel like a “theme park under the sea,” and the layout reflects that. The aquarium features more than 3,000 marine animals from 150 species, and each area blends underwater exploration with play and storytelling.
The standout is the 180-degree ocean tunnel, where kids can walk beneath schools of fish, rays, and small sharks. The height of the tunnel is perfect—even toddlers can stand eye-to-eye with the animals without needing to be lifted up.
Themed environments like an underwater castle, a spooky sunken house, and a whimsical Ferris wheel made of clams give kids the sense that they’re not just visiting the sea—they’re stepping into it. My youngest was fascinated by the glowing jellyfish and couldn’t stop talking about the “stingray that looked like it was flying.”
A Family-Friendly Aquarium Experience Built for Kids
Unlike larger, more traditional aquariums, SEA LIFE Florida is sized and paced for younger visitors. Each exhibit is interactive without being overwhelming, and the storytelling woven into the layout makes learning about marine life fun and easy to follow.
Everything is built from a child’s perspective—literally. The tanks are low enough for children to view on their own, and the entire space is stroller-friendly and easy to navigate. It felt much more relaxed than a typical theme park stop.
If you’re visiting LEGOLAND Florida with young kids, SEA LIFE Florida is a great place to wind down, spark curiosity, and let kids engage at their own pace. Even older kids will find plenty to enjoy, especially in the more detailed tanks and conservation displays.
How SEA LIFE Florida Fits Into a LEGOLAND Florida Trip
One of the biggest advantages of SEA LIFE Florida is how easy it is to include in your LEGOLAND day. It’s located just outside the entrance to LEGOLAND Theme Park—so whether you’re planning a full day at the park or just looking for something lower-key, it fits seamlessly into your visit.
For us, it worked perfectly as a midday cool-down. After a busy morning of rides and building zones, the aquarium gave us a chance to relax indoors, enjoy the air conditioning, and reconnect before heading back out for the rest of the day. You could also stop in before entering the main park if you arrive early or on your way out to end your visit on a calm note.
If you’re visiting for multiple days or using the LEGOLAND Florida Summer Play Pass like we are, you can come back again and again all summer—no extra planning or extra tickets required.
SEA LIFE Is Included with the LEGOLAND Florida Summer Resort Play Pass
One of the best surprises this summer? SEA LIFE Florida is included with the Summer Resort Play Pass, which is one of the most budget-friendly ways to explore the entire LEGOLAND Florida Resort.
With the Summer Play Pass, you pay for just one day and get unlimited visits through September 12, 2025—not just to LEGOLAND Theme Park, but also to:
- LEGOLAND Water Park
- PEPPA PIG Theme Park
- SEA LIFE Florida
That kind of flexibility is a huge win for families. If you’re coming from nearby (like we do from Southwest Florida), it’s easy to make it a weekend trip or even a series of quick day trips. And because SEA LIFE is indoors and doesn’t require a full half-day commitment, it’s one of our favorite ways to break up the visit when the weather is hot or unpredictable.
Also, if you’re visiting during May or early June, don’t miss the new LEGO Festival at LEGOLAND Florida, which is also included in the Summer Play Pass. It’s another immersive, creative event built specifically for families with younger kids.
Ocean Education and Conservation Through Play
Something I really appreciated during our visit was how SEA LIFE Florida weaves conservation into the experience. Through colorful displays, short video clips, and storytelling stations, kids can learn simple but powerful ways to care for the ocean and its animals.
From low-stress lighting and specially filtered water to engaging habitats and interactive zones, the entire aquarium is built around both animal well-being and kid-friendly exploration.
You’ll also learn about SEA LIFE TRUST, the aquarium’s nonprofit partner organization. During the month of June, a portion of ticket purchases can be rounded up to support marine life conservation efforts—an easy way to make your visit more meaningful.
Even our youngest came home talking about why sea turtles need clean oceans and how jellyfish move. That’s the kind of learning that sticks.
