Family Fun and Relaxation at the Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to stay with my family at the Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village for a wonderful and relaxing vacation or rather a staycation. Since we are locals we had been to the hotel many times before to enjoy drinks and a light dinner or light meal at the Nauti Mermaid, the hotel’s outdoor bar and restaurant, or to have dinner at Marker 92. The area is gorgeous, surrounded with beautiful mangrove forests and great waterfront views.
Since we had never stayed overnight so we where pretty excited about seeing their rooms. From the moment we checked in I was amazed by the friendliness of the staff and as we walked into our room my children where overjoyed to find a special, personalized gift for each of them along with delicious treats. Talk about a wonderful welcome!

Our room was almost as big as our home with two separate bedrooms, living room, dinning room, a complete kitchen, washer and dryer and a private screened in balcony that provided breathtaking views of the marina and mangrove covered islands and natural preserve. For a family with small children having two separate bedrooms made our vacation more relaxing and enjoyable as we where able to watch TV, chat and get a late night snack without disturbing the kids.

Both of the rooms had a spectacular view and the private balcony was the perfect place to sit down with a good book and just watch the boats out on the water or the flocks of ibises, parrakeets and pelicans flying over the water.

I seriously could not get enough of the view and on both mornings I set the alarm up so I could wake up early and enjoy the stunning sunrise.
The hotel has three pools. The main pool is conveniently located right next to the restaurants and has a wonderful view of the water. Just a short walk or even shorter golf cart ride away a lagoon pool and a lap pool nestled among beautiful tropical vegetation provides a more secluded and relaxing option. On a Sunday morning we where almost by ourselves in the lagoon pool and I loved that there was a lot of shades from the surrounding palm trees and vegetation.
Our kids enjoyed a fun day at the Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village’s Kids Club where they spent the day making crafts, and playing with other kids while my husband and I got a chance to relax and enjoy ourselves and all that the hotel and the City of Cape Coral has to offer without the kids.
My little guy made this beautiful painted sand dollar and a colorful bag that we used later for the beach. He also got a cute had that he refused to take off for the rest of the weekend and a backpack and treats. Both of my kids loved it and wanted to go back the next day and my little guy did not take the hat off for the rest of the weekend.
There are lots of things to do at the hotel for the whole family from kayak rentals and free bikes that you can take for a ride to the neighboring Rotary Park and natural preserve. The hotel has docks making it easy to reach by boat and the Tarpon Point Marina Village has art galleries and shops. My favorite activity was taking the free ferryboat ride Fort Myers beach which is available to all hotel guests. Just over half an hour long the boat ride to the beach let us save on gas, skip the traffic to the beach which gets pretty bad specially during season and save on parking too. We spent a fun morning there, had lunch and then headed back.

What a beautiful resort. When we stayed in Panama City Beach, our favorite thing to do was sit on the balcony with a cup of coffee in the morning.
This is such a beautiful resort. I have been lucky enough to enjoy their spa services too. It’s a top class facility and a jewel for Cape Coral. I did not know they had a ferry service to Fort Myers Beach… what fun!
