Azucar is a great Cuban restaurant on Del Prado Boulevard in Cape Coral. They have incredible breakfast specials and an amazing bakery. Their very best feature, in my opinion, is the Cuban Coffee, listed on the menu as Cafe con Leche.
The coffee topped with steamed milk is a smooth, rich, full flavored blend with a slight smokey, caramel flavor.
Their cafe con leche reminds me of the summer I spent in Merida, Venezuela as a student. We drank cup after cup in the shady common area enjoying the cool mountain breezes feeling young and fabulous.
Venezuelan coffee has a smooth rich flavor and is generally considered to be among the best coffees in the world. In fact, Merida is also a market name for Venezuelan coffee with sweet flavor notes.
After tasting some of the best coffees in the Western Hemisphere. I can honestly say the cafe con leche at Azucar ranks among the very best.
It’s been years since I sat in the student common area. A sip of a cafe con leche from Azucar helps the time and distance slip away.
I recommend visiting Azucar mid morning, it’s a quite time for the business and a great time to have a quite moment for yourself as well.
I always order the Cuban Sunrise breakfast for $4.95. Three eggs, hash browns, a choice of bacon or ham, Cuban bread toast with guava jelly and of course Cuban Coffee. You won’t be disappointed.
Enjoy!

I have had a life long love affair with coffee. This place is my special treat to relax during the hustle and bustle of life. They have an extensive menu but it’s the coffee that keeps me coming back.

Yo también soy fiel seguidora del cafe.. lo disfruto mucho… Generalmente lo tomo como mi papá café con leche (pero casi que más leche que agua).

Sounds delicious, I’d love to try it.
That coffee looks amazing! Even though there are plenty of at-home options for coffee brewing, nothing beats a great cup of coffee from a cafe – or even a diner. 🙂
Agreed!
I cannot forget the taste of Cuban coffee, 7 years after I tasted it.

Me encanta el cafe con leche pero no todo el mundo lo sabe hacer. Es un arte que hay que perfeccionarse con la practica.
I’m not even a coffee drinker and this looks great
My sister and brother in law spend their winters in Florida and pretty close to Cape Coral, too! I’ll have to let them know about this place, they’re always looking for something new and different and they love their coffee!
I’m not even a coffee fan and you made this place sound utterly delicious. The breakfast especially!

Oh deary me. I love coffee but have not tried Cuban coffee before. And $5 for so much brekkie food? Wow score! Looks so good! Thanks for sharing!
Having grown up in Broward County, I was raised on Cuban food! I adore it. I can’t wait to plan a trip back home-its been almost fifteen years.
That looks so good. I am a coffee addict. I’d probably love that place.
